PROGRAMS
RECREATION
Our recreation program is the most action packed time of the day! Campers have the opportunity to participate in high energy site-wide organized games with campers outside of their cabin group. Games include classic camp activities such as scavenger hunts, water regattas, and relay races, in addition to Youth in Action’s own signature games such as Zoobnix! This program allows our campers to take full advantage of good weather and a beautiful site!
FRIENDSHIP & LEADERSHIP
The Friendship and Leadership program, or as we like to call it, F&L, encourages campers to participate in activities and discussions that promote positive values. The program begins each day with an engaging and funny skit presenting the overarching theme of the day. This program is built with a focus on values such as respect and inclusion in relation to themes such as family, friendship, community, sustainability, and self love.
MUSIC
Our campers participate in the music program twice each day. This program allows campers the chance to learn new songs and sing them as a group. We invite campers to bring their own instruments to camp to add to their experience. During this program, campers learn a mix of popular hits as well as songs written for the week by our very own music committee. Music time is typically filled with voices singing as loud as they possibly can, dancing, and more!
WORKSHOPS
The workshop block provides campers with an opportunity to participate in a variety of small-scale themed activities. Each of these activities aim to have our campers try something different and possibly gain a newfound skill, passion, or hobby. Campers rotate on a daily basis between 4 different workshops. This can include wilderness, arts & crafts, sports, cooking, science, and more!
COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM
Our Counselor in Training program is a source of pride for our camp. This program focuses on providing older campers, aged 14 and 15, with opportunities to learn and practice important leadership skills. This program includes shadowing a cabin for a day, curating the C.I.T.s’ very own recreation game, and playing thought provoking leadership based activities.
